Far from My Khe beach about 10km, Linh Ung pagoda is the biggest one in Da Nang city about the size (20 ha in width) as well as art . This pagoda locates on Son Tra peninsula tourist area; it was built by combination of modern and traditional design of Vietnamese pagoda.  This is a new tourist destination of this beautiful city.

The statue of Bodhisattva of Mercy on Linh Ung pagoda yard is 67 m long, Buddha’s throne is 35m diameter; it is equivalent to 30 floors building and also this statue is the highest one in Viet Nam at present.  The statue puts it back to mountain, face in the direction of beach with indulgent eyes; her one hand brings the elixir of life pot for giving fisher man the safe and sound. The tourist whoever visit Linh Ung Pagoda, they want to discover the 17 floors temple inside this statue of Bodhisattva of Mercy.

Linh Ung pagoda started to build on lunar June 19^th, 2004 and it was inaugurated on July 30^th, 2010 after 6 years building. This pagoda is considered as the object which is full of Vietnamese Buddhism deep mark in the century XXI.  It’s combined the modern style and traditional Vietnamese pagoda style with roof, pillar circled by skilful images of dragon.  The main temple is large; here is also a most quiet and solemn in this pagoda. Right in the middle, there is Buddha’s statue; statue of Bodhisattva of Mercy on the right.
From here, visitor could see perfectly whole scenery of city, mountains and forests, Son Tra peninsula as well as marble mountain where circled by beach with soft and white sand. In the early morning or in the afternoon, the blue sky with cool wind will bring to traveler a wonderful impression. An especial thing of Linh Ung pagoda is that you could see easily the statue of Bodhisattva of Mercy wherever you stay in Da Nang city. Besides, there are 18 arhat statues arranged 2 sides of road into main temple of Linh Ung pagoda. Each of statues is the embodiment for different emotions of human being such as “happiness, anger, love…” which make the scene here lively. They are carved cleverly, sharply and softly by artisan Nguyen Viet Minh with white stone material which were brought from Thanh Hoa province.

Nowadays, with the traveler visited Da Nang city, Linh Ung pagoda not only the spirit destination but also the place where heaven, earth and man’s heart converged.
